And this is where I am now after several hours' work today. The three gents are at least tied into the scene now, rather than just floating in mid air. I like the train buffers, but the sky definitely still needs a lot of work.

Latest Acrylic Project
Yes, dearly beloved, it isn't just about one sketch a day for a year with me, although I will admit that my output of acrylic paintings has slowed considerably. Still, I do tend to use the Wednesday evening sessions at Artists' Group. This is where I was with my latest project at the start of yesterday:-
Do you have any idea what is going to be in the right hand side of the painting? Well, there are clues. The three gents are all wearing railway workers' clothes, and there is a railway signal and signal box in the background. This is 4 hours' work, and since I spent a significant proportion of the time just sketching the figures before painting them, I decided to do the sketching before going to the Artists' Group last night.
Yes, it's another steam engine, in this case a tank engine. The whole point of sketching in the outlines of the rest of the painting was to give me the whole 2 hours session last night to work on painting in the background. The plan was to paint in the background on the left hand side, and in particular the tree and the sky. This is as far as I got by the end of the session,
